Most museum-restaurants are fine for a snack before or after the visit, nothing more. But when visiting the Vikingmuseum on Djurgården, you should definitely plan some time for lunch or dinner at their amazing Restaurant Eld. It starts with the rooms being really nice, lots of wood and a beautiful view on Wasahamnen from the first floor. It continues with the great staff (that even recognizes you again when you're back after 8 months) and ends with... of course: the amazing food! The menu is rather small - and different for lunch an dinner - but always contains some swedish specialities, so there might be moose or deer or some local fish and of course also always vegetarian meals. The choice might be hard, especially when seing the plates being served and one looks more delicious than the other. At Restaurant Eld, the food is not only a pleasure for the mouth and taste, but also for the eyes. Simple dishes as gnocchi become a real pleasure. Everything is really delicious, high quality, fresh ingredients, cooked with a twist and how you don't find it in many other restaurants. Especially also for very fair prices, also when the food is star-restaurant-worthy. Definitely not to miss here: the desserts, what a joy. Lots of choices also for drinks, and for the Viking-feeling: they also serve different meads, something you might not be able to try everywhere. Check out their website for openinghours and the current menu.

So next time you're on Djurgården, check out Restaurant Eld and enjoy a brilliant meal and I bet you also want to go back there soon.
