Tyska kyrkan - The German church - is visible from about everywhere you look at Gamla stan. Its bells ring every day since 1666, always at 8am, 12am, 4 pm and 8pm. The special thing about it: Every Wednesday at 3:30pm, the bells are played manually by the organist for 15 minutes. Listen closely when in Gamla stan and don't be surprised if you hear a song by the Beatles, ABBA, the themesong of Pippi Longstocking or even Lady Gaga.
