One of those beautiful swedish summerevenings, delicious food outside directly by the water on an island just outside Stockholm. How does that sound? This is possible, at Rökeriet Fjäderholmarna. To spend the perfect evening, you have to take the boat to the island Fjäderholmarna. You can leave at Slussen with Fjäderholmslinjen or from pier 12 at Strandvägen (Nybroviken) with Strömma. Be sure to check the timetables first and buy your ticket before boarding (Strömma) or on the boat (Fjäderholmslinjen). The boattrip takes about 25 minutes, with a short stop in Nacka strand. While there, have a look at the fountain! You pass by Djurgården and so the trip basically is also a small sightseeingtour.

When arriving in Fjäderholmarna, turn to the left and there you are at Rökeriet Fjäderholmarna. And yes, there really is the terrace on the water with this amazing view you could enjoy all evening. But well, you might want to eat and drink too. There's delicious food, a lot of fish (also smoked next to the restaurant) but also other meals. Don't expect a huge choice of dishes, but the ones they offer are perfectly cooked.

The restaurant is open daily from 12 a.m. during summer. You can find more information on the website. Be sure to make a reservation. And don't cancel when in rains when you take the boat. Weather can change fast in Sweden (the picture above has been taken two hours after we arrived in heavy rain), and especially: the restaurant is also beautiful from the inside! Big open space with nice decorations and an open kitchen.

Before you take the boat back to Stockholm, walk around on the island a bit. And in July, if you take the boat at 9 p.m. in the evening back, you can enjoy the beautiful sunset when approaching Strandvägen/Slussen.

Enjoy your evening!

Update June 2021: Wasn't able to visit this time as my reservation-e-mail was never answered despite differents tries, which is not a brilliant customer-service.
